A note on the language of the questions
Every question bank on Exampractice is written and verified in English — the language exams above included, where the material is explained in English rather than immersed in the target language. We have not published translations, and we would rather say that here than let you find out after paying. On most professional certifications the command words and technical vocabulary are identical across language versions, so English practice transfers; the phrasing of a translated question does not. If you plan to sit an exam in another language, check the awarding body’s own list of available languages first.
Common questions
- What language are the questions written in?
- English. Every question bank on Exampractice is written and verified in English, including the banks for exams in other languages — the JLPT and HSK banks explain Japanese and Chinese material in English rather than immersing you in it. Translations are on the roadmap and none are published yet.
- Is that a problem if I sit the exam in another language?
- Usually not, and this is worth knowing before you buy: on most professional certifications the command words, product names and technical vocabulary are left untranslated in every language version, so the terms you drill in English are the terms on the paper. What English practice will not do is prepare you for the phrasing of a translated question, so check with the awarding body which languages it offers and whether it grants extra time to candidates sitting in a second language.
- Which language certifications can I practise here?
- 52 exams across 4 awarding bodies, covering Cambridge English from Pre-A1 through C2 Proficiency, TOEFL, IELTS, the JLPT, the HSK, DELF/DALF and the professional translation credentials from the ATA and the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
- Is there a timed practice test?
- Yes, on every one of them — 65 questions in 130 minutes, scored the moment you finish.
- What does it cost?
- 10 questions on every exam are free, with no card and no account. A single exam is a one-time $19.99 for 30 days, and $39.99 a month opens all 10,000+ exams on the site.
