Free JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) – Japan Exam Questions and Answers
The JLPT is administered by the Japan Foundation together with Japan Educational Exchanges and Services, and it is sat worldwide twice a year. Its five levels run N5 through N1, and there is no speaking or writing component at any of them — the test measures language knowledge, reading and listening only, which is worth knowing before treating an N1 as evidence of fluency. Scoring is out of 180 with both an overall pass mark and a per-section minimum that must each be met independently. Certification does not expire, though institutions and employers often ask for a recent result.
The first 10 questions on this page are free to read, answers included — no account and no card. A plan opens the rest of the bank, the full timed practice test and your weak-topic reporting.
