Free NCLEX (National Council Licensure Examination) Exam Questions and Answers
The Next Generation NCLEX launched on 1 April 2023 and the change was structural, not cosmetic: case studies now sit at the centre of it, testing clinical judgement through NCSBN's model of recognising and analysing cues, prioritising hypotheses, generating solutions, taking action and evaluating outcomes. The exam is computer-adaptive with no fixed length — a minimum of 85 items and a maximum of 150, inside a five-hour limit that includes breaks, and identical for RN and PN. Of that minimum, eighteen items form three six-item case studies and fifteen are unscored pretest questions. There is no score to report: NCSBN returns pass or fail, decided by a confidence-interval rule rather than a percentage.
The first 10 questions on this page are free to read, answers included — no account and no card. A plan opens the rest of the bank, the full timed practice test and your weak-topic reporting.
