Free SAFe-POPM: SAFe Product Owner-Product Manager (POPM) Exam Questions and Answers
SAFe Product Owner-Product Manager (POPM) is one of the Scrum tests covered here. Two rival bodies are gathered here and their credentials are not interchangeable, which the near-identical acronyms do a good job of hiding. Scrum Alliance awards the CS- family — CSM, CSPO, CSD and the Advanced and Professional tiers above them — and those require attending an accredited course with a Certified Scrum Trainer before you may sit the assessment, then renew every two years with education units and a fee. Scrum.org awards the PS- family — PSM, PSPO, PSD, PAL and the rest — which no course is required for, which are assessed by a single rigorous online test, and which never expire. So a CSM and a PSM I are not the same credential, and an employer asking for one may not accept the other.

Question #1
Which Day 1 PI Planning agenda item is presented by Product Management?

Question #2
During the problem-solving workshop at Inspect and Adapt, a group that includes a Product Owner has used a fishbone diagram to list several root causes of a recurring problem. What should the group do NEXT?
Correct answer: C
Explanation
After root cause analysis, the group uses Pareto analysis or voting to select the biggest root cause, restates the problem, and only then brainstorms solutions. Addressing every cause dilutes effort and skips the narrowing step.

Correct answer: B
Explanation
The Product Owner is the content authority for the Team Backlog and accepts Stories as meeting their acceptance criteria. The Scrum Master facilitates the team's process, and the Release Train Engineer facilitates ART-level execution.

Correct answer: A
Explanation
Mitigated means the teams have agreed on a plan to lessen the likelihood or impact of the risk. A risk that no longer matters is Resolved, and one the ART lives with is Accepted.

Question #7
A new Agile Team asks its Product Owner which responsibility belongs to the Product Owner rather than to Product Management. Which responsibility should the Product Owner identify?
Correct answer: C
Explanation
The Product Owner is the content authority for the Team Backlog and accepts Stories. Vision and ART Backlog prioritization are Product Management responsibilities at the ART level, which makes them tempting but incorrect here.

Correct answer: C
Explanation
The Iteration Review is a demonstration of the work the team actually completed during the iteration so stakeholders can give feedback. Work in progress and future estimates are not demonstrated because they do not provide working results.

Question #10
A Product Manager publishes a Solution Vision that lists every planned Feature for the next 18 months along with fixed delivery dates. Teams are told to treat the list as a commitment. Which concern does this raise?
Correct answer: A
Explanation
The Solution Vision describes the future state of the solution and is refined as new information emerges. Turning it into a fixed commitment removes the flexibility to adapt. Story-level detail belongs in backlog refinement, and Product Management is responsible for the Vision.
