Free HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) – China Exam Questions and Answers
The HSK has been restructured, and most material online still describes the old shape. Chinese Testing International announced the HSK 3.0 framework — three stages and nine levels — on 1 April 2021, but the familiar six-level system continued alongside it until the new syllabus took full effect on 18 November 2025. HSK 3.0 is now the current standard. The most consequential change for candidates is that speaking becomes a mandatory component from Level 3 upward, where the old system tested it separately through the HSKK. Mapping to CEFR levels is approximate and has been disputed, so treat any A1-to-C2 equivalence as a rough guide.
