Free Series 7: General Securities Representative Qualification Examination (GS) Exam Questions and Answers
The Series 7 is the general securities representative licence — the exam that lets someone sell most securities products in the United States. It is 125 scored questions plus 5 unidentified pretest items in 3 hours 45 minutes, and costs $395. FINRA publishes the passing score as 72, a bare equated number rather than a percentage. Two eligibility conditions catch people out: the Securities Industry Essentials exam is a co-requisite, though it can be taken in either order, and you must be sponsored by a FINRA member firm. The weighting is unusually lopsided — one function, providing information and making recommendations, is 73% of the exam, with the other three splitting the remaining 27%.
