In Cisco's current scheme the first digit gives the level: 100 is entry, 200 associate, 300 the CCNP concentration exams, 350 the CCNP core exams that also qualify you for CCIE, 500 specialist and 700 the unproctored sales exams. Older codes such as 400-, 640- and 642- predate the February 2020 restructure, when every CCNA track was collapsed into one exam and CCNP moved to a core-plus-concentration model.
