Free ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) Exam Questions and Answers
The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam), from ERB, is used for admission to independent and private schools, mainly in the US. It comes in four levels by the grade the student is applying to — Primary, Lower, Middle and Upper. The Lower, Middle and Upper levels have five sections: Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, Mathematics Achievement and an unscored essay sent to schools. Scores are reported as scaled scores, percentiles and stanines compared with students in the same grade. Students can take it at a test centre, at a school, or at home with online proctoring.

Question #7
Chris has a basket of apples, 40% of which are red. The rest of the apples are green. If the basket contains 6 red apples, how many green apples does it contain?
Correct answer: C

Question #9
Jack and Michael ride their bikes down a straight path, starting at the same place and time. Jack rides at a speed that is 3 times as fast as Michael’s speed (M). After 30 minutes, they are 1,000 feet apart. Which equation, when solved for M, would give Mike’s speed, in feet per minute?
Correct answer: B
Explanation
Michael’s speed is M and Jack’s is 3M. Distance = rate × time, so Michael’s distance is M(30) = 30M and Jack’s is 3M(30) = 90M. This gives 90M – 30M = 1,000, or 90M – 1,000 = 30M.

Correct answer: A
Explanation
x/4 + 5 = 25, so x/4 = 20 and x = 80. 6y + 11 = 77, so 6y = 66 and y = 11. Column A is greater.
