Free NCP-CI-Azure: Nutanix Certified Professional - Cloud Integration - Azure (NCP-CI-Azure v6.7) Exam Questions and Answers
Nutanix Certified Professional - Cloud Integration - Azure (NCP-CI-Azure v6.7) is part of the Nutanix certification programme. The ladder runs NCA, then NCP, then NCM, then NCX, then NPX — and only the Multicloud Infrastructure track has all five, with the other tracks currently stopping at Professional level. The format changes completely as you climb: NCA is 50 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes at $100 and NCP is 75 in 120 at $200, but NCX is a 60-minute live oral defence before two certified examiners, and NPX is a portfolio application plus an in-person design-review panel with no written exam at all. Nutanix does not publish a delivery vendor or a validity period on its public pages.

Question #1
Which encapsulation protocol does Flow Virtual Networking use to carry overlay subnet traffic between hosts in an NC2 on Azure cluster?
Correct answer: A
Explanation
Flow Virtual Networking builds VPC overlay subnets with Geneve encapsulation between AHV hosts. VXLAN is the most common overlay protocol and is the usual trap, but it is not what Flow Virtual Networking uses.

Question #2
An NC2 on Azure cluster uses two Flow Gateway VMs that have established BGP sessions with an Azure Route Server in the hub VNet. An ExpressRoute gateway is in the same VNet. On-premises routers do not learn the prefixes of a no-NAT overlay subnet, although the routes appear in the Route Server. What should the administrator do?
Correct answer: D
Explanation
The Route Server only exchanges routes between its BGP peers and the ExpressRoute or VPN gateway when branch-to-branch is enabled. Without it, routes learned from the Flow Gateway are not advertised to on-premises. The sessions are already established, so BGP port rules are not the problem.

Question #3
An administrator is designing the Azure network for an NC2 cluster. Company policy forbids public IP addresses on the cluster subnets, but the cluster must still reach the NC2 console and Azure APIs over the internet. Which Azure resource should be associated with the subnets?
Correct answer: D
Explanation
A NAT gateway gives resources in a subnet outbound internet access through its own public IP without public addresses on the hosts. Bastion, Application Gateway and Traffic Manager handle inbound access or DNS routing and do not provide outbound translation.

Question #4
An administrator wants the operations team's shared mailbox to receive Nutanix alerts generated by an NC2 on Azure cluster. Which configuration should the administrator use?
Correct answer: B
Explanation
Nutanix alerts originate inside AOS, so the email recipients are set in Alert Email Configuration in Prism. Azure Monitor action groups and Defender for Cloud notifications handle Azure-generated signals and do not receive AOS alerts. An NSG diagnostic setting only logs network flow events.

Question #5
A company has a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) and wants the NC2 software subscription invoiced by Microsoft and counted against that commitment. The company owns no Nutanix licenses. Which approach meets the requirement?
Correct answer: B
Explanation
A Marketplace subscription is billed through Microsoft and is eligible to draw down a MACC. Licenses bought from a reseller are invoiced outside Azure, and a trial converted in My Nutanix is billed by Nutanix. Azure reservations cover infrastructure charges and are not how the NC2 software is licensed.

Question #6
A security team requires an AOS upgrade on a production NC2 on Azure cluster with no VM downtime. The administrator has access to the NC2 console, the Azure portal, Prism Central and Prism Element. Which method should the administrator use?
Correct answer: A
Explanation
AOS on NC2 is upgraded in place with Life Cycle Manager, which performs a rolling upgrade while VMs stay available. Azure Update Manager does not manage AOS. Terminating nodes or re-imaging them with Foundation is disruptive and is not the supported upgrade path.

Question #7
An NSG on the Cluster Management subnet of an NC2 on Azure cluster has an inbound rule at priority 100 that allows TCP 9440 from 10.20.0.0/16, the address space of the VNet. The administrator must restrict Prism Element access so that only the jump host subnet 10.20.5.0/24 can reach TCP 9440. No other custom rules exist on the NSG. Which change meets the requirement?
Correct answer: D
Explanation
NSG rules are evaluated from the lowest priority number up. Narrowing rule 100 alone is not enough because the default AllowVnetInBound rule still permits other VNet sources, and default rules cannot be deleted. An explicit deny after the allow closes that gap. A deny at priority 90 would block the jump host, and a deny at 4096 would be reached only after the broad allow.

Question #8
An administrator is planning Flow Virtual Networking for an NC2 on Azure cluster and must create the subnet that will host Azure Route Server in the cluster VNet. Which requirement applies to this subnet?
Correct answer: B
Explanation
Azure Route Server requires a dedicated subnet named RouteServerSubnet with a prefix of /27 or larger. GatewaySubnet is reserved for VPN and ExpressRoute gateways. The delegation to Microsoft.BareMetal/AzureHostedService applies to the subnets used by the cluster nodes, not to the Route Server subnet.

Question #9
An administrator creates an inbound NSG rule that allows TCP 9440 to Prism Element on the Cluster Management subnet of an NC2 on Azure cluster. How does the NSG treat the response traffic for that connection?
Correct answer: A
Explanation
NSGs are stateful, so return traffic for a flow that an inbound rule allowed is permitted without a separate outbound rule. Requiring a matching outbound rule is the behavior of a stateless firewall. The default DenyAllOutBound rule does not apply to responses of an allowed flow.

Question #10
An administrator wants to know how long the current storage capacity of an NC2 on Azure cluster will last at the present growth rate, so that nodes can be added before the cluster fills. Which tool should the administrator use?
Correct answer: D
Explanation
Prism Central capacity planning projects the runway for storage, CPU and memory from observed usage trends. Azure Monitor reports host-level metrics without AOS storage consumption, and Azure Advisor cost recommendations and the billing summary address spend, not remaining capacity.
