Exampractice

Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Full timeRemoteEngineeringUS$130,000 per year

Own features end to end across a Next.js and Postgres product used by candidates in over a hundred countries.

Apply for this role

Exampractice is exam preparation: question banks for thousands of certifications, timed practice tests, and a free quiz. The whole thing is one Next.js application on Postgres, and it is small enough that one engineer can hold it in their head — which is the point.

You would work across the stack, from the query to the page, with nobody between you and the decision.

What you will do

  • Ship features end to end: schema, server logic, the page people use.
  • Keep the catalogue fast — thousands of prerendered pages with real caching constraints.
  • Pick up the parts nobody owns yet, and leave them better named than you found them.

What we are looking for

  • Several years building web applications you still maintain.
  • Comfortable in TypeScript and SQL, and able to reason about why a query is slow.
  • You write things down. Our code comments explain decisions, not syntax.

What we offer

  • Fully remote, and genuinely worldwide — we hire where you already are.
  • Flexible hours. We ask for a few hours of overlap, not a timezone.
  • A small team, so the person who wants the work is the person you talk to.
  • Short feedback loops: what you ship reaches people sitting an exam next month.
